Christmas Jell-oh

Does anyone out there make a 'Christmas Wish List'? I have mixed feelings about the subject. You see, I dislike how materialistic it is (even though I clearly am somewhat materialistic, writing a fashion blog and all) but when you come from a family of... modest means, Christmas time is really the only time you can look forward to getting stuff. Despite my mixed feelings, I am a compulsive list maker and probably would have made one even if I didn't show it to anyone at all. Now I will share it with you all.
1. Needles 'n' thread so I can make do and mend when away from home.

2. I don't care if everyone who religiously wears tan Uggs owns this sweater too - I like it... Because isn't it so annoying when people pretend to hate their favourite band after they go 'mainstream'? No matter how irritating popular this sweater is, I still like it

3. Surfer Rosa by the Pixies. A cd I wouldn't mind owning the hard copy of.

4.Croc print Doc Martens. These haunt my dreams...

P.S. -Outfit posts will be nil for a while because when I go to work it is dark, and when I leave work it is dark. No light for picture taking means no pictures!

SURFER ROSA. Definitely one of my favourite albums. the Pixies are amazing, one of the most innovative bands there was. If you didn't listen to that much of them, I'd highly recommend them.

it's all about how you wear The Sweater, I think. I asked for sewing stuff too!

I also want some doc martens, but in pink!

My xmas wish lists are ususally pretty short- just cds and dvds, those kinda things. But I don't think you should feel guilty! It's all part of our funfun consumer culture... :S (I guess I also have mixed feelings!)

I have also labeled myself a compulsive list maker many, many times. Yet I don't have a wish list!

surfer rosa is an insane album. gigantic is maybe my 3rd favorite pixies song.

Ugh, I totally agree about people who stop liking music when it becomes big. Being overly anti-trendy is almost worse than being overly trendy.

Christmas is such a consumer holiday and I for one loathe Christmas. Everyone's so cranky and stressed out and broke. I like them boots though, I wouldn't mind getting those for Christmas actually.

If you put glow in the dark docs on your list, you won't have to worry about the no-light factor ;)

The Pixies are one of the last bands I'll actually pay to listen to/own.

Oh wow those docs look really awesome. And I love that sweater too - I saw a dress version similar to that one here in Australialand and I was this close to getting it --> ''

Those docs are awesome but I don't think I'd have the guts to wear them!

i love the sweater too!! im a firm believer in that it's not what you wear, it's the way you wear it.

I have a wish list each year. I usually just put a few things on there and leave the rest up to my mum's imagination (i leave big hints often when i'm around her) so that it's more of a surprise.

ahh, I love that album. Especially "Where is my mind" and how it was used at the end of Fight Club. Magical.

I use to have these docs in high school, and I only wore them once!
They were pretty cool, I don't know what happened to them :(

I rocked the cobalt blue version of those Docs (see above for pic) all through 3rd grade. I would kill for a pair big enough now!
